A Gift for Baby

Hi there!

I just wanted to share a quick card with you today. I made this card for UFC 2013 (a gathering of fantastic friends in Montana). Usually people make baby cards with soft subtle colors: pastels, watercolors, etc. I like this card because it's two colors that really POP. They're both bright colors and I like how they look together. I added a little pearl to the elephant's eye because I think it adds some dimension, however, I tried adding a pearl on the giraffe's eye as well-let's just say it was creepy looking and I'd recommend not doing that haha.

Here's my card:

Stamp Sets: Zoo Babies
Ink: Melon Mambo, Smoky Slate, Coastal Cabana, Basic Black
Cardstock: Smoky Slate, Melon Mambo, Coastal Cabana, In-Color DSP, Whisper White
Accessories: Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Pearl Basic Jewels

I'm in love with this card, it's so bright and cheery. I think it's perfect for a unique baby/baby shower card, I guarantee no one else will show up with a card like this. ;)

If you'd like to purchase any of the supplies used to make this card or any other Stampin' Up! product, you can shop 24/7 in my online store, HERE. Don't forget, it's Sale-A-Bration, so you can earn free product for shopping. Check out my SAB post, HERE.

No time for crafting?

Remember how I told you I've been really busy with school lately? Well naturally that means less time for crafting. And less time for crafting equals a sad crafter. However, I've found a fantastic solution to this problem... My Digital Studio! MDS is Stampin' Up's digital designing software. Digital designing is one of the hottest crafting trends! And while mixing traditional stamping with digital designing may not seem intuitive at first, you may be surprised how easy it is to use and fit into your schedule. It is easy enough for the beginners, but also robust enough for experienced digital designers.  It includes tons of designing options as well as the high-quality artwork that Stampin' Up! is known for.

I'll tell you what, if you don't believe me, start with the FREE 30-day MDS Trial. Get your feet wet! Test it out and see for yourself how much fun digital designing can be. I'm sure after poking around and making a few creations, you'll be hooked: Just like me!

Here, let me show you a card I made on MDS. I'm not even exaggerating when I say it took me 10 minutes to design and finish. I love it.

What do you think? Pretty cute if I do say so myself. ;) This is a really simple design, you can make your creation as complex as you'd like. Want to see more? How about a scrapbook page I created that literally took me 15 minutes.

Cool, huh? Notice the twine up at the top matches the twine bow on the tag? I feel so coordinated,  thanks Stampin' Up! ;) Oh by the way, that's my lovely mama in the pictures with me. Hi Mom! I choose the "I like you" stamp because I obviously love my mom but we really like each other too. I'm so thankful that I have a mom that I can call my best friend as well (stop crying, Mom) ;)

Ooo! Did you notice the awesome paper I used on both my card and my scrapbook page? Or how about the twine and the stamp sets? I'll tell you a secret; everything I used in this blog post is from Sale-A-Bration! One of the options for your free stuff with a $50 purchase is ALL of the SAB items in digital form. How cool is that? Then you don't have to choose, you can get it all!

For more information of Sale-A-Bration, you can read THIS blog post.

I'm back!

Hi everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! If you haven't noticed, I've been on a little bit of a crafting/blogging break. I decided to take a winter session course (Linguistics 305 for those of you who care haha) and they're quite intense; a full semester smushed into a 3-week course. Woo! Glad that's over ;) Anyway, I'm back to crafting and blogging so you can expect a more regular schedule now.

I have a card to share with you today that I made for UFC 2013. I'm always amazed at how complex black and white cards can be. I hope you see what I mean, here it is:

So... what do you think? I decided since I was going to do a black and white card that I needed to mix up the prints. I used Designer Series Paper for the 2 background prints and of course, the zebra counts as zebra print, right? ;) I also added some contrast by using a combination of pearls and brads, I'm in love with this combo; it's so different. Here's a close-up of the brads and pearls.

Oh, as you probably noticed, I tried to add some contrast by heat embossing the zebra as well. Overall I'm really happy with how the card turned out. Anyway, you'll definitely be seeing more of my crafty projects soon and on a regular schedule. ;) If you want to purchase any of the products you've seen on this card or any other Stampin' Up! products you can check out my online shop, HERE. Love love love

Hi there!

I'm sorry I've been MIA for the last little bit. I've been finishing up my semester in school and finals week was brutal! But here I am, I survived AND I have a new card to show you wonderful people. ;)

I made this card for a craft retreat I attended in Billings, Montana. 8 women plus crafting (and a little wine, okay... a lot of wine) equals so much fun! I had a blast and I can't wait to see those lovely ladies again!

Here's my card:

Stamp Sets: Gorgeous Grunge
Card Stock: Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Baked Brown Sugar, Night of Navy
Ink: Crumb Cake
Accessories: Naturals Designer Buttons, 1-1/4" Burlap Ribbon, Pretty Print Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack, Expressions Thinlits Dies

What do you think? In designing this card I was trying to go for a more vintage, antique look. (Don't laugh if you don't think it fits that haha) Usually, I create with very straight lines and clean and simple overall looks, I was trying to get outside my norm and push myself. If you've never done this, I recommend trying it, it's fun! I'm really happy with how it turned out, I hope you like it!

If you want to buy any of the products used to make this card or if you have any other craft stuff you'd like to purchase, you can visit my online store 24/7 HERE.

Also, don't forget about my Fill A Frame 2014 class. There's still time to register! For more information go check out THIS page.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you're all having a wonderful holiday season!
